Why are you a newborn photographer?

I love babies!

You know, when you have those moments in life where you realize that some things have come full circle.

Here we are.

I fell in love with photography when I was in 8th grade. I took every photography class my high school offered and then moved onto the school newspaper to continue learning and became the photo editor. After high school, I went on to study photography in college where I earned my degree in commercial photography and discovered my love of portraiture.

I continued to work on my photography after college but living expenses are no joke, so I became a nanny. I ended up specializing as a newborn nanny because I love babies.

Life continued, and I had two beautiful babies of my own!

In 2018, I decided to take my photography full time. No more doing it on the side….  One of my favorite decisions ever!

I started out shooting senior portraits and family sessions, which I still do and completely enjoy. But in early 2022, I had a newborn session that absolutely stole my heart. I realized that I could do newborn sessions all day, every day and be perfectly happy! That, of course, is not how I set up my business…. But you get the point: Love!

At a recent shoot, a nursing mom handed me her baby after they had done a quick top off. I happily and carefully laid the baby down on the blanket. I gently shushed and comforted to help settle the little one. At that moment the woosh of full circle hit. All those years as a nanny…. And all those years as a photographer…. It all comes together for this!

This right here, this is what I am made to do!

And why….?

Simply put, because I LOVE babies!!
